Let me tell you, I have been tearing through my list of books I want to read in 2015! I’m actually quite proud of my progress. (I used this list to pick a good variety of books for the year.) It helps that I’ve spent a lot of time in airports in the last few weeks (I purposefully get to the airport early just so I can sit at the gate and read… is that weird? Probably.) and I’ve started reading on the bus during my commute to and from work every day. Here are the awesome books I have read in the last few weeks!
Forrest Gump– Not gunna lie, I didn’t know that this was a book before the movie until a few years ago. I finally got around to reading it and I’m glad I did. The writing sounded like Forrest Gump for the movie was talking to you and it was interesting to see what they kept, changed, and deleted from the movie version. Short and easy read; I recommend!
The Night Circus– This one I actually listened to as an audiobook. It was still a delight! A fun and unique story and I got really wrapped up into it.
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)– Hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. I read this on the beach and was laughing out loud. I love Mindy Kaling and this was a fun insight into her life and thoughts. Quite a few times I said to myself “yes! Me too!” Or “she has the same thoughts on friends I do!” and “this is such a fun book!”
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes– This movie had been in my Netflix queue for a long time, and I have had the book on my shelf for a long time. I wanted to watch the movie, but I wanted to read the book first. I finally read it. AND THEN NETFLIX TOOK IT OFF THEIR SITE!!!! Upset. The book was ok, I guess…
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets– Book 2 of the series, just as good as I remembered. I’m sure everyone knows what this book is about, so I’ll suggest some alternate titles. “Reasons Not to Keep a Diary” “Big Spiders, Big Snake, No Thanks” “Wait… So How Old is Hagrid?” and “Dobby is the Worst… But Don’t Die Later, K Thx”
The Girl on the Train– This book was great. Intense, almost scary at times, and I could not put it down. I liked it better than Gone Girl, and I bet that you will, too. It made me feel ok about being single because apparently everyone is a crazy person.
