Oh, hello there. How are you doing? I am doing ok. I have been sick as a dog for the last few days and it has been not fun at all! I had all these fun weekend plans but ended up just sitting at home, sucking on cough drops, napping, and reading on the couch. So much napping. So much reading. It would have been really great, except for the whole not being able to feel my head thing.

It’s time for me to review some of the books I’ve finished over the last few weeks! I’ve actually liked all of them this time!

thanks for the memories

Thanks for the Memories – Cecelia Ahern is seriously one of my favorite authors! Her books are full of fun and whimsy and imagination and sometimes romance and I just love them ALL! This one was also amazing! I really liked that it wasn’t really a love story- that is pretty rare to come by nowadays. I had a hard time going to bed at night because I just wanted to keep reading!!! A woman gets a blood transfusion and all of a sudden has knowledge and memories she didn’t before- could they be from the donor? You’ll have to read to find out!

the best yes

The Best Yes – This was my bible study book for the past few months and it was a really good read. It is, you guessed it, about saying your best yes and making wise decisions. One little nugget of wisdom from the book was that sometimes you just need to say no. Not just to unwise choices, but also to a choice that is actually good in general, but would be bad in some way (like volunteering at church- good! But volunteering when you really need to spend those 4 hours with your kids you didn’t see that week- less good.)

me before you

Me Before You – To say that I cried all the tears would be an understatement. I got a headache from crying so much. Like, The Fault in our Stars type of crying (yeah). But I actually did enjoy this book! A young woman takes a temporary job caring for a quadriplegic man who plans on ending his life in 6 months in a death with dignity type situation. Still interested? You should be! Moral quandaries aside, it was actually pretty endearing and heart warming, and I definitely guessed the ending, but still cried like a baby anyway.

after you

After You – The sequel. OH the sequel. I honestly didn’t know where she was going to take this story, which follows the young woman after her last job ends (read Me Before You to find out how!), and I was really surprised at the direction the story went! Pleasantly surprised, I think! I didn’t like this one quite as much as the first, but I’m still glad I read it. (And yes, there were a few tears here, as well. Just a few baby ones, though.)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – It’s over. It’s done. I’ve read them all (again). There is seriously so much detail and action in this book, and I am honestly amazed at J. K. Rowling’s mind. HOW DID SHE COME UP WITH ALL OF THIS STUFF? And I read somewhere that she had the end of THIS book completely thought out/written by the time the first book was finished. That is crazy awesome! If you haven’t read the books- DO IT! They make the movies 1000x better because you’ll actually get the other 60% of the story that the movies left out.

Now that the year is winding down, I’ve started looking through and picking out some of the books that I want to read in 2016 and I can’t wait to finish and review them!
