My Favorite Christian Podcasts

I have been just CRAZY about podcasts lately! It’s no secret. I’ve done a few posts about some of my favorite ones in the past (here and here) but I’m always shuffling through what podcasts I have in my list, whether I’m just getting tired of one or trying out a new one. I listen to a pretty wide variety of podcasts about a lot of topics, but there is one particular genre that I’m always on the lookout for – a good Christian podcast.

For those of you that don’t really know what a Christian podcast looks and sounds like, they come in all different shapes and sizes and formats! Some are short and more inspirational, some give biblical advice to readers that have written in, some are actually sermons that have been given by a particular church, some are more generic “talk show” formats, some are geared toward certain groups like moms/parenting – there are so many options!

I’ve sorted through a bunch of them and removed a few that I wasn’t wild about, and there are a few that I keep listening to consistently.

The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey || I’ve mentioned this one before, but I just love it so much! Jamie Ivey is just the sweetest thing and she talks to girlfriends on her podcast about life (the good and the bad), TV shows, books they are reading, and literally everything! A lot of these women have inspirational stories and it really feels like you’re just sitting at happy hour, gabbing with friends.

Relevant Podcast || This name might sound familiar if you know the Relevant magazine – it’s made by the same people. This one is relatively long (like an hour and a half to two hours) and has the format of a morning radio show. There are multiple hosts, and they talk about events, pop culture, and they have great guests. Some of the recent interviews I’ve loved were Tony Hale, Terry Crews, OK Go, Lecrae, and Jen Hatmaker!

The Village Church Sermons || This one, as you could guess, is a “podcast” of sermons from The Village Church here in Dallas. I’ve gone to one of The Village locations a few times and really liked the teaching a lot! I’ve found another church home that I like a lot, but I still like to listen to these sermons during the week.

Ask Pastor John || This podcast is pretty short (10-15 minutes per episode) and they have SO MANY in the backlog that I still want to go through (topics that I feel apply to me and ones I’m just curious about, too). This is through Desiring God, and people can write in with their questions for John Piper. He gives biblical advice to his best ability, and it’s a good listen.

Good Christian Fun || Ok so this one isn’t really a “Christian” podcast, per se, but I thought I’d include it anyway. It’s hosted by two people that grew up going to church, and they go through Christian pop culture from when they were kids and more recently, too (there’s only been like 6 episodes so far…). They’ve talked about things like Veggietales, Katy Hudson (Katy Perry’s first career as a Christian singer), DC Talk, and the movie Fireproof – so it’s been kind of fun to listen and feel a little bit of nostalgia.
