Hello again, friends! We made it through another week! Give yourself a little pat on the back. I’m sure as heck giving myself one right now- this has been a tough week at work and I’m glad to be done with it! Not bad tough at all, just BUSY tough to the point where my brain is so tired and I just want to take a 12 hour nap. And then sleep for another 8 hours. That’s allowed, right?!?
I can’t wait for this weekend- it is going to be so much fun! My sister Sarah, her family, and my mom are coming into town for the weekend! One of Sarah’s best friends from college is coming to Dallas for a wedding this weekend and Sarah is going to be her date! We’re all going to have dinner together and then tomorrow my mom and I will get to hang out with my nephew ALL day while the rest of the bunch is at a football game! I can’t wait!
Here is what’s been on my radar lately!
One: I love this Travel the World desk calendar from Rifle Paper Co. I actually have the full-size version in my apartment this year, but I love the prints so much that I wouldn’t mind seeing them all again in 2016!
Two: I love the idea behind Packed Party! Sending a surprise gift box to your best gal pal for any occasion is a good idea! They have boxes for birthdays, breakups, I miss yous, and more! They’re a bit on the pricey side, but you get some killer stuff in there, so I think it’s worth it.
Three: I legitimately laughed SO HARD for SO LONG at this video. If you’ve been reading my blog recently, you know that I’m currently re-reading the Harry Potter series, so I found this relevant for me right now. And also I love Taylor Swift. And also I needed a good laugh. You’re welcome.
Four: Food puns are amazing. The Foodiggity instagram has been making states out of food and it has been hilarious. I live in Texmexas.
Five: There is a website that shows you where to find the clothes that Jess wears on the show New Girl (and in real life). This is why the internet exists, people.
(GUYS!!!!!!!!! This cute sweater/shirt combo above? Well the website that I linked to says that the exact match is $298. Umm……. no thank you. BUT I found (and purchased) an almost exact replica from Walmart (seriously!) and it was only $15! That’s it! They have like 6 other color combinations and they are adorable- go check it out; I bet they’ll sell out fast! Seriously- look at how similar this sweater is and SO much cheaper!)
Happy Monday, folks! How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? Did you eat any delicious food? I had a very fun weekend! Friday I did nothing but relax and read and crochet and it was so lovely! Saturday I met a friend at White Rock Lake because we wanted to try stand up paddle boarding. We didn’t reserve a time and so they were all booked for the day (bummer), so I ran some errands, went back home, watched a movie, and did some work. I also reserved a time for us to go to the lake the next day! So Sunday at 8am we were at the lake and it was so great! We had a lot of fun trying the stand up paddle boards (the wobbliest part for sure!) and spent an hour out there paddling and talking and enjoying the gorgeous weather. I am proud to report that I did not fall into the lake! After that I took the fastest shower ever and went to the late service at church.
But now the weekend is over and it’s back to work. My cubicle has been pretty bland and boring since I started here back in March. I had all these grand visions of how I can decorate my cubicle at work- I scoured Pinterest to see what ideas I can steal, and then I did nothing about it. I sat at a boring desk for months and months and it just made me feel so blah. But enough is enough! It’s time to decorate a tiny bit!
I’ve obviously started very slowly. I created a little print to have on my desk (feel free to grab it and put it on YOUR desk, too! What’s mine is yours!) and I love how bright and happy it is! I also chose some of my favorite instagram pictures to have printed and then strung them up on my teeny tiny bulletin board space. I ordered them through Artifact Uprising and I am SO happy with the size, the material, the quality- everything! I got 25 prints, so I’ll rotate my pictures every few weeks.
I still want to spruce up the rest of my desk, but this is a start for now. Also, my company is really going for a clean, modern look and they don’t really encourage a lot of personal decoration, so who knows if I’ll even be able to keep my pictures up. I will just keep decorating and hope for the best!
Here is the printable for you- save it, download it, use it! I have mine in a 5×7 frame and it is the perfect size!
Enjoy the rest of your day!
It’s no secret- I love Instagram! It is such a fun way to show little snippets of what’s going on in your life, things that you love, or whatever you want! It’s a great way to ‘keep in touch’ with people that you know in real life and see what they are up to, and it definitely helps to pass the time when you’re sitting at a restaurant waiting for your friend to show up to meet you for lunch. There are so many beautifully styled accounts and ones that are so hilarious- it’s easy to sit and swipe through pictures for hours!
I went through all of the accounts that I follow and picked out some of MY favorites!
hilaryrushford graymalin amy_stone ashleybrookedesigns mackenziehoran themuppets
imnotathirdwheel cmcoving glitterguide carly satiregram sarahkjp
heleneinbetween waitingdogs inslee thatjcrewginghamshirt brightonkeller thewaywemet
Some of them are business accounts (like ashleybrookedesigns), some of them are just normal people wearing cute clothes (like brightonkeller), and some of them are just plain silly (like thatjcrewginghamshirt). Look them up and maybe you’ll find a new account or two to follow! Are there any other accounts that you think I should take a look at? Let me know!
